I waffle on the Murano. I’ve always liked the look of the 1st-gen, but I’m just not 100% convinced about the build quality. Most of the ones I see on CL look like they’re in good condition, but the price is usually low enough to trigger my paranoia.

Obviously, yours has lasted quite awhile, congrats. Did you get it new? How is it on gas? cargo room?

Got it a few years ago with 154k. There are some broken plastic pieces about (negligent owner/kids) the leather is separating on the edges where it is installed on the seat. Sitting surfaces are fine though. There’s some paint chipping on the hood and roof, but I assume that is just this particular color. It burns oil on startup but just be mindful of your oil levels. There’s a bit of rust forming in the door frames. The grill chrome delaminates and gets bubbly.

It’s had a hard last ~46k miles but it’s only demanded a new alternator and then basics like brakes/tires/oil.

I’d look for an 06-08, it’s got some cosmetic updates (color infotainment, LEDs).

The CVT was a common malady but I think most of the defective ones have been junked or replaced by now. Gas is bad. It averages about 18 mixed you can squeeze 22 if you go 55 and never stop. Interstate driving is about 17mpg.

There is a lot of cargo room, more than I was expecting. Not minivan numbers but I’d feel very comfortable with my 45lb dog in the back with the seats up.
